The Co-op observes the same school holiday and vacation schedule as the San Francisco Unified School District. There is generally a two-week break in the winter and a one-week break in the spring. A calendar and holiday schedule is distributed at the beginning of our school year.

Special Events

Fridays at local parks – When new children are comfortable being at school, usually by October/November, the school walks to a local park for lunch on Fridays. The children walk holding on to a rope, flanked by the parent workers.

December – A daytime Holiday Party for Co-op children

February – A Valentine’s Day party.  Bringing Valentines is optional.  However, you are requested to either bring Valentines for all the children or none.
Chinese New Year Party

May -- Spring Party, a.k.a. “Juice Festival”

Birthdays – On your child’s birthday, you may bring a special treat for morning snack or lunchtime.  If you bring a treat, you should return to school to help prepare it for snack or lunchtime.  Be sure to let the director/teacher know you are bringing a treat in advance

Graduation/Last Day of School – The parents of the graduating/departing children put on a party for the school.  These parents also produce the keepsake Program, which includes interviews with the departing children. If your child leaves the Co-op during the school year rather than at the end, you may bring a special treat on the child’s last day.
